Triple Action Icecream

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 costs too much? Too much more-of-the-same for you? Or maybe you did pre-order it but got some leftover change burning a hole in your pocket (not likely with a 60$ price tag, but who knows, maybe you’re a pimp)? Three great, recent action games are being sold this week at 40-50 percent discounts. Hell, you can almost buy all three for what Activision charges for MW2. They are:
-
Red Faction: Guerrilla - Volition’s 3rd person action game set on Mars and boasting the most complete, realistic destructible environment in a game ever. For 20$ (opposed to the normal 40$) you can join the fighters of the Red Faction and topple bridges and entire buildings in your fight against oppression. Got itself a nice 84 average review score across the internets.
-
Arma II - The excellent, if still somewhat buggy after 2 patches, infantry combat simulator from Prague-based Bohemia Interactive. A war is raging on a Russian island, and the player is free to lead his small elite combat team over all 225 square km of the battlefield, taking on support missions and planning his own path through the chaos. Average score 77, and this weekend sold for only 20$ instead of 40$.
-
Section 8 – Timegate Studio’s partime innovative multiplayer shooter, where players play the part of futuristic troopers, going into battle by hurtling themselves straight from their space transport using entry capsules. In a similar manner players can request heavy weapons and vehicles to drop in on their position from orbit. Not a lot of single player content, this one is for multiplayer addicts only. Got a 76 average score, this weekend on Gamestop for 30$ instead of the usual 50$.
